"This painting is based on a photo I took of the five men who played the Clanton gang members in a documentary I worked on for The Discovery Channel about the gunfight at the OK Corral. I liked the unity of the photograph so I turned it into this painting.

Billy the Kid is buried in Ft. Sumner, NM, alongside two of his chums and the tombstone over their head says "PALS" on it.

So in both instances these are men who eventually all went to a grim death and, in legend, will always remain bonded together"
